Sînziana holds a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology from the University of Bordeaux in France. Before her doctorate, she obtained a Master of Science in Public Health Epidemiology from Karolinska Institute in Sweden and a Pharmacist degree from ‘Carol Davila’ University in Romania. In December 2020, Sînziana came to Magdalen College as a Calleva Centre Postdoctoral Research Associate.


Sînziana uses population-based cohort studies to study how early childhood experiences influence the development of bullying victimization in youth. Her research combines methods from epidemiology, developmental psychology and behavioural genetics with the aim of strengthening causal inference in observational studies. Currently, Sînziana is investigating the social relationships and mental health of youth with language problems.
