Dr Maheshi Ramasamy studied medicine at Christ’s College, Cambridge and completed a DPhil at the Oxford Vaccine Group and Wadham College, Oxford. She is currently a Specialist Registrar in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. She is also a Trainee Representative of the British Infection Association Council.
The Florey lecturer has organisational responsibility for the Graduate Entry Medical Students studying the accelerated program at Magdalen, of which there are four in each year. Maheshi also delivers pre-clinical (immunology and microbiology) and clinical medicine tutorials.
Maheshi’s DPhil was based on clinical trials comparing B cell responses to conjugate and polysaccharide meningococcal vaccines, and using next generation sequencing techniques to analyse the antibody repertoire evoked by vaccination.
