Role in College

Claudia is responsible for the care and cataloguing of the estates collections at Magdalen, which are the richest of any Oxford college and contain records dating from the early 12th century to the present day. She acts as a key point of liaison between the Archives and the Estates Bursary in relation to the college’s more recent estate records, overseeing their transfer to the Archives for permanent retention.

Claudia also works part of the week (Thurs-Fri) with the estate collections at All Souls College.

Background

Claudia completed her MA in Archives and Records Management at the University of Liverpool in 2019. Prior to coming to Magdalen, Claudia was Accessioning and Cataloguing Archivist at Cheshire Archives and Local Studies where she dealt with a backlog of varied cataloguing projects, processed new deposits, and completed digital preservation activities. She has previously worked for Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies as an Archivist, and volunteered for Bangor University Archives and Special Collections, Conwy Archive Service, and Gladstone’s Library. She also holds a BA in German and Italian from Bangor University.
