On Saturday 22 October 2011 the College celebrated the work of Magdalen poets. This included readings of their own poems by:

Bernard O’Donoghue (Lecturer at Magdalen 1971–1995), who also read
a poem by Richard Murphy (1945)

A recording of a poem read by the late Mick Imlah (1976) was presented. Readings of Magdalen poets from the past were also made by undergraduate students Ashleigh Wheeler and Sam Plumb. The afternoon was chaired by Tutorial Fellow in English Robert Douglas-Fairhurst.
