Dinner to mark the Retirement of Professor John Nightingale

Alumni are warmly invited to save the date for the retirement dinner for Professor John Nightingale (1978), Tutor and Fellow in History, 1986-2026, on Friday 2 October 2026.

The dinner, to be held in Hall, will mark his distinguished career at Magdalen spanning forty years, and an association with College going back even further.

Time: 6pm

Dress code: Business wear

Dinner tickets will cost £50pp, and are for Professor Nightingale’s former students in the first instance. Due to capacity limitations in Hall, we regret we are unable to accommodate guests on this occasion.

We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate Professor Nightingale’s remarkable contribution to College life, and to reconnect with fellow alumni.
