Considering an offer?

Firstly, congratulations on your offer! We hope you are feeling proud of yourself and really hope you’re planning to join us at Magdalen.

We think you’ll find the information below really useful in thinking about joining us at Magdalen as it will address many of the concerns or queries you might have. You’ll also receive an Offer Holders Pack either in the post or by email in the month or so after getting your offer. Drop outreach@magd.ox.ac.uk an email if you’re worried this hasn’t got to you.

Remember, if you have any questions that aren’t answered here, contact the Admissions Office. Communication from the College will be sent mostly by email, so do remember to notify us if you change any of your contact details. It’s also a good idea to check your email regularly, including junk mail or spam folders (just in case).

What next?

Well, this is up to you! Hopefully, you’ll select us as your first choice and then, if you haven’t already got your qualifications, it’s a case of focusing on making sure you meet your offer requirements. Come the summer, once that’s out of the way, it’s time to start thinking about coming to us.

A few of you might be wondering about whether to put Oxford as your firm choice, because I did exactly the same! Don’t forget, you would not have gotten this offer if the tutors here and your teachers did not think you were capable…I personally think Magdalen is an amazing place to live and learn.”

My favourite thing about Oxford is definitely its collegiate structure. Colleges provide a real sense of community and allowed me to settle into university life more easily

I initially felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. I certainly found that my experience was great in my first term, and I didn’t feel any homesickness or anything as there is so much to do in Oxford as well as being able to keep up with my parents with regular phone or video calls.
