Oxford’s 2024 Open Days will be on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th June, and Friday 20th September.  Detailed information can be found on the University website

Visiting Magdalen

Potential applicants and their families are very welcome to look around Magdalen on any day of the year. Simply tell the porter on duty that you are a prospective applicant and you will be admitted free of charge and given a copy of our student-written Alternative Prospectus.

Open Day Schedule

The Open Day is an opportunity for you to get a feel for the College, ask any questions you may have, and for you to meet our tutors and current undergraduate students. The Open Day is designed to help you to decide where you want to study and play no part whatsoever in our selection process.

There will be the opportunity to ask our students, admissions and outreach team and tutors questions on the day.

Magdalen’s schedule of events during the Open Days on 26th and 27th June and 20th September will be as follows:

9:30-16:30Open to Visitors with frequent tours running by student helpers
12:30-13:00Life at Magdalen talk by student ambassadors (prospective students only)
13:15-14:15Admissions Talk and Q&A with admissions tutors from various subjects
14:45-15:30Demonstration Interview with a student helper and admissions tutor

All of these events are drop-in and do not require booking beforehand.

Open Day Travel Expenses Reimbursement Scheme

If the cost of travelling to and from Oxford is a problem, then we may be able to reimburse some or all of the costs of travel. In order to be eligible, you must be a UK resident attending a UK state school or college and travelling by public transport. We are only able to reimburse travel costs for students and receipts must be provided for your travel.

We will be opening applications for travel reimbursement a month before each Open Day.

If you are concerned about paying for travel but do not fit this criteria, please ensure you ask your school whether they have schemes or support for you before getting in touch with us.

Accommodation

We will be offering free accommodation on the nights of the 25th and 26th June to care-experienced and estranged students. Booking will open here in May. We can only offer one night of accommodation per student.
