Department: Human Resources
College appointment: HR Assistant (Academics)
After completing my German undergraduate degree in Canterbury and Marburg, I spent five years teaching English as a foreign language in the UK and abroad. In 2018, I had the opportunity to teach English for an academic year at the British Council in Hanoi, Vietnam.
After returning to the UK, I undertook a career change to Human Resources. In my previous role, I built my knowledge of global mobility by facilitating employee business travel and international secondments.
I hold a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
My role as Human Resources Assistant (Academics) involves administration for academic staff, such as advertising academic vacancies, preparing letters of appointment and ensuring new starters are enrolled onto College systems.
Staff immigration is also a key part of my role, such as completing UK Right to Work checks, applying for visas and liaising with the University Staff Immigration Team (SIT).
