Subject: Law

Academic position: Lecturer and Researcher in Law

Background

I read law at the University of Athens (LLB; LLM in EU law) and Oxford (MJur, St Peter’s College). I am currently reading for the DPhil in Law at Keble College, Oxford, under the supervision of Professors John Vella and Stephen Weatherill. I joined Magdalen as a Lecturer and Researcher in Law in 2024. Before that, I was a Stipendiary Lecturer at Wadham College, Oxford, and a Lecturer at Keble College, Oxford.

Teaching

At Magdalen College, I teach tutorials in Constitutional Law and European Union Law. In the Faculty of Law, I give lectures in EU law. Previously, I also taught Administrative Law and Competition Law at several colleges in Oxford.

Research

My research interests lie with EU Administrative Law, Human Rights Law (with a particular focus on procedural rights, the right to privacy and data protection), EU Criminal Law,  EU Tax Law, and Competition Law. My DPhil research focuses on participatory rights in Exchange of Information procedures among EU Member States. In particular, my thesis aims to answer whether, and most importantly at what stage of the Exchange of Information procedure, EU law should offer participatory rights to affected persons. Its main focus is on cooperation procedures in tax law, but also examines cooperation practices in competition law and criminal law with the aim of drawing comparisons among the three fields. A theme underlying my analysis is the balance between efficiency and protection.
