Open Days

Oxford’s 2025 Open Days will be on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd July, and Friday 19th September.  Detailed information can be found on the University website

Our Open Days provide an opportunity for you to get a feel for the College, ask any questions you may have, and meet our tutors and current undergraduate students. They are designed to help you to decide where you want to study and play no part whatsoever in our selection process.

Our Admissions and Outreach team will also be available to answer questions on the day.

Open Day Schedule

Magdalen’s schedule of events for the Open Days of 2nd and 3rd July and 19th September 2025 is as follows:

None of these events require booking beforehand. We recommend turning up 5 minutes early for the talks, panels and demonstration interview, in order to get a seat.

Open Day Travel Expenses Reimbursement Scheme

If the cost of travelling to and from Oxford is a problem, then we may be able to reimburse some or all of the costs of travel. In order to be eligible, you must be a UK resident attending a UK state school or college and be travelling from over 70 miles away using public transport. We are only able to reimburse travel costs for students and receipts must be provided for your travel.

To apply for this scheme, students must be:

If you meet the criteria, please complete the Open Days Travel Expenses Reimbursement request form. The deadline for submitting this form is noon on 16th June for the June Open days and 8th September for the September Open Day. We will be in touch shortly after the deadline with the outcome of your application.

We will be opening the form for travel reimbursement applications a month before each Open Day.

If you are concerned about paying for travel but do not meet the criteria above, please ensure you ask your school whether they might have support available for you before getting in touch with us.

Accommodation for Care-Experienced and Estranged students

We will be offering free accommodation on the nights of the 18th and/or 19th September to care-experienced and estranged students only. Please complete this application form if you would like to request free accommodation on these grounds. Please note that we can only offer one night of accommodation per student.

Accessibility

All of our Open Day events will be held in the Grove Auditorium, which has step-free access via a ramp. There is also an accessible toilet in the building and a hearing loop. Seating and water will be available.

To try and ensure that our Open Days are accessible to all, we have produced an accessibility map and screen reader-friendly version of our Open Day schedule.

Visiting Magdalen

Potential applicants and their families are very welcome to look around Magdalen on any day of the year. Simply tell the porter on duty that you are a prospective applicant and you will be admitted free of charge and given a copy of our student-written Alternative Prospectus.
