Oxford’s 2027 Open Days will be on 30th June, 1st July and 17th September. Detailed information can be found on the University website.
Our Open Days provide an opportunity for you to get a feel for the College, ask any questions you may have, and meet our tutors and current undergraduate students. They are designed to help you to decide where you want to study and play no part whatsoever in our selection process.
Our Admissions and Outreach team will also be available to answer questions on the day.
Open Day Schedule
Magdalen’s schedule of events for the next University Open Day will be available around a month before the event.
None of our events require booking beforehand. We recommend turning up 5 minutes early for the talks in order to get a seat.
Open Day Travel Expenses Reimbursement Scheme
Applications for travel expenses will open a month before each Open Day. The application form will appear on this webpage at that time.
If the cost of travelling to and from Oxford is a problem, then we may be able to reimburse some or all of the costs of travel.
To be eligible to apply for reimbursement, students must be:
- attending a UK state school or college and be travelling to the Open Day by public transport from over 100 miles away;
- and/or currently eligible for Free School Meals/pupil premium;
- and/or care-experienced (currently or previously in care) or estranged.
If you meet the criteria, please complete the Open Days Travel Expenses Reimbursement request form. We will be in touch shortly after the deadline with the outcome of your application. The deadline for requests for the Open Days will be around 1-2 weeks before each event.
If you are concerned about paying for travel but do not meet the criteria above, please ensure you ask your school whether they might have support available for you before getting in touch with us.
Accommodation
We will be offering free accommodation on the night of 29th June and 16th September for UK state school groups travelling from over 100 miles away, and for individual care-experienced or estranged students. School groups must include at least 1 teacher and each group can have up to 15 pupils. Accommodation does not include meals (dinner and breakfast), but these can be purchased in Hall.
Please note that we can only offer one night of accommodation per student.
We will host a Care-Experienced and Estranged Students university information talk in the Auditorium at 4pm.
Accommodation bookings will open around 1 month before each event.

Accessibility
All of our Open Day events will be held in the Grove Auditorium, which has step-free access via a ramp. There is also an accessible toilet in the building and a hearing loop. Seating and water will be available.
To try and ensure that our Open Days are accessible to all, we have produced an accessibility map and screen reader-friendly version of our Open Day schedule.

Visiting Magdalen
Potential applicants and their families are very welcome to look around Magdalen on any day of the year. Simply tell the porter on duty that you are a prospective applicant and you will be admitted free of charge and given a copy of our student-written Alternative Prospectus.
