The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh made an historic visit to Magdalen College on Thursday 27 November 2008 to celebrate the 550th Anniversary of the College. They met students in the President’s Lodgings, had lunch with Fellows, students and staff in the College Hall and visited the Chapel.
It was the first visit the Queen has made to the College since 1948 when, as Princess Elizabeth, she came to collect an Honorary Degree from Oxford University.
