A Memorial Event will be held for Derek Robinson (1932-2014), in the Auditorium at Magdalen College on Wednesday 25 February from 5.00pm – 7.00pm. Speakers will be Sir Peter Carr, Professor Ken Mayhew and Lord Wood.
Derek Robinson was a Fellow and Tutor in Economics at Magdalen from 1969–99, Emeritus Fellow 1999–2014, and Vice-President in 1998. Before coming to Magdalen he had a distinguished career in the Civil Service, and was also an influential government adviser and author on issues related to labour economics and industrial relations. He was awarded the CBE in 1979.
