Magdalen Student Raises £0.24m for Refugee Scholarships

30 June 2016

Thais Roque, a graduate student in Biomedical Engineering at Magdalen College, launched the Oxford Students Refugee Campaign last October to help students whose studies had been disrupted by war or persecution. Over 11,000 people have signed up, with pledges and donations exceeding £240,000. The first scholarships will be available in 2017 and it is hoped the fund will help eight potential students who have been offered Oxford University places this year.
