Magdalen Means Business: From Inspiration to Enterprise

14 October 2019

An exhibition and lecture series at Magdalen College, 31 October 2019 until 29 April 2020.

Magdalen College is proud to present a multi-part event series running in tandem with its new exhibition in Longwall Library, Magdalen Means Business: From Inspiration to Enterprise. This series will explore the relationship between academia and the entrepreneurial world, with Oxford, and especially Magdalen, at its focus. Events will range from formal lectures tracing the biographies of individuals and their companies, in-depth discussions between academics and entrepreneurs, and provocative debates between various sectors.

Magdalen College is a constituent college of Oxford University. It was founded in 1458 by Bishop William of Waynflete; it is now one the most academically successful colleges of Oxford. In 1991 Magdalen co-founded the Oxford Science Park as a 50/50 joint venture to deliver high-quality commercial offices and laboratories for science and technology-based companies. In 2016, Magdalen bought out its partners and took full ownership of the Science Park, ushering in a new phase of investment in new start-ups and international companies.

The series is supported by The Oxford Science Park and OX1 Incubator.
