Professor Laurie Maguire, Tutorial Fellow in English Literature at Magdalen, has been awarded the Calvin and Rose G Hoffman Prize for a Distinguished Publication on
Christopher Marlowe. The prize is awarded annually to the best work on the relation between Marlowe and Shakespeare.
Professor Maguire won the prize jointly with her Oxford colleague Emma Smith for their publication “What is a Source? Or, How Shakespeare Read his Marlowe”.
