Magdalen College, the Humanities Division, and the Ruskin School of Drawing & Fine Art are delighted to welcome the distinguished artist and filmmaker Shirin Neshat as the Humanitas 2012 Visiting Professor in Contemporary Art.

Shirin will be lecturing on ‘Images and History’ along with Malcolm Rogers, the Humanitas Visiting Professor in Museums Galleries and Libraries on Monday 7 May at 4pm in the Nelson Mandela Lecture Theatre, Said Business School.

A symposium on ‘Portraiture: pasts and futures’ with Shirin Neshat, Malcolm Rogers, William Ewing, and A.S. Byatt will take place in the Nelson Mandela Lecture Theatre on Thursday 10 May at 4pm. The symposium will be chaired by Sandy Nairne.
