Clare Harris Curates Exhibition on Tibetan Art in Hong Kong

30 August 2011

This exhibition, curated by Tutorial Fellow in Anthropology Dr Clare Harris, presents the work of Kesang Lamdark and Palden Weinreb. They are members of a new generation of Tibetan artists who have been educated and enculturated in the West. What is familiar to audiences is historical Tibetan culture and religion, but how the recent decades of diasporic experience and Western imagination have affected Tibetan culture in the global sphere remains to be properly explored. This new and complex aspect of Tibetan art is now being exhibited from 3 September to 5 October in the Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong.
