Magdalen’s collections include medieval manuscripts, parchment deeds and account rolls, prints, photographs, maps and early printed books in historic bindings.  The college belongs to the Oxford Conservation Consortium, a collaborative conservation centre formed by a group of Oxford colleges in 1990, which provides the collections with specialist care to preserve them for current and future use.

The Chantry Libary:

The Oxford Conservation Consortium supports the Chantry Library, a specialized library collection on conservation, especially book and paper conservation, which includes material on book history, preservation, collection care. Visitors are very welcome, but do email us at to book an appointment. The library is normally staffed on Tuesdays from 2-6pm.
