For 70 years, Elsie Nash housed Magdalen students at 9 Longwall Street. Known for immense breakfasts and Sunday lunches, accommodation at Elsie’s was coveted, despite its modest appearance and way of life.

Elsie died almost 50 years ago, yet at Magdalen, we want to honor her memory. A visit to Elsie’s house on Longwall Street will be accompanied by a talk in Magdalen’s Summer Common Room. The talk will be delivered by Jeremy Goulding (1969), who is currently writing a book on the beloved landlady.

Programme

4:30pm-5:30pm: Elsie Nash Talk in the Summer Common Room

Priority booking will be given to attendees of the Alumni Dinner.

Please direct any queries, or indeed memories, to the Alumni Office.
