Alumni are warmly invited to attend for a talk at the London Review Bookshop on Wednesday 15th April when art historian and Magdalen alumnus Professor Bruce Boucher (1970) will discuss his book John Soane’s Cabinet of Curiosities: Reflections on an Architect and His Collection, with Richard Calvocoressi (1969), former Director of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Henry Moore Foundation and author (with Adrian Clark) of ‘Irascible: the combative life of Douglas Cooper, collector and friend of Picasso’.
A Financial Times Best Book of 2024 (Art, Design and Fashion), John Soane’s Cabinet of Curiosities offers readers a thoughtful exploration of Sir John Soane and his world-renowned collection.
Tickets will be £8.50pp. Alumni are welcome to bring up to two guests.
