Benefactors’ Dinner: Programme

Members of the President’s Circle and the Benefactor Society (and a guest) are warmly invited to our Benefactors’ Dinner in College on Saturday 1st June 2024, to thank them for their support.

In the afternoon, the Old Library will be open with a chance to view the exhibition ‘C.S. Lewis: Oxford and other worlds’ curated by Fellow in English Professor Simon Horobin with College Librarian Dr Lucy Gwynn. A special tea will be held in the President’s Garden to provide an opportunity to meet current students who have benefited from bursaries and philanthropic support. After the tea Magdalen President Dinah Rose KC will give a review of highlights of the academic year and an update on our current projects, including the Waynflete Building redevelopment. This will be followed by Evensong in Chapel and a champagne reception on Cloisters Lawn.

Dinner will include sung Grace and additional music from the Academical Clerks, as well as a talk on the Hall portraits from art historian Dr Tim Hunter (1985). Dessert will be served in the Senior Common Room.
