From New Building Lawn to Addison’s Walk, Longwall Library to the Old Kitchen Bar, via the Hall, Chapel, and Cloister, we want you to be able to share this special place with your family and friends.

Opening times may vary and updates will be posted on this website or outside the main entrance.

Your friends and family are also welcome at Magdalen for free when accompanying you.

For groups over 6 guests, please contact the Alumni Office ahead of your visit.

Alumni and their guests are free to walk around the College, including St Swithun’s Quad, Longwall Quad and the Grove which are otherwise closed to visitors.

The Old Kitchen Bar (OKB) serves sandwiches, salads, cakes and soft drinks throughout the day. Food can eaten in the OKB or on the riverside terrace.

Opening hours: Term time: Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm (closed Sundays). Vacation: Daily, 10am-5pm. No booking is required.

 

You can take out a Magdalen punt in season (usually May until September) subject to availability.

For punting guidelines, please read this document ahead of your visit. We regret that we are not able to accommodate children under the age of 12 in College punts. Punting is undertaken at your own risk and the Punt Safety Policy can be found here.

To request a punt booking, please get in touch with the Development Office.

The College has a small number of Fellows’ guest rooms, which can be booked by alumni no earlier than one month in advance. Please complete this enquiry form.

 

You can pay Members’ rates in the Old Kitchen Bar (OKB). Simply show your Members’ card at the till.

Magdalen alumni are able to book private dinners and events in College outside of term. To find out more, please get in touch with the Conferences team.

Magdalen members are welcome to use Longwall Library.

The Revd Dr Andrew Bowyer, Dean of Divinity, and Mr Mark Williams, Informator Choristarum, welcome members and their families and friends to Chapel services.

Evensong is sung every night in term at 6.00pm except Tuesday, and there is Sung Eucharist every Sunday morning in term at 11.00am.
