Prof Colin Blakemore to give prestigious Ferrier Lecture

Professor Colin Blakemore is awarded the Ferrier Lectureship of the Royal Society. This prestigious lecture is given every three years ‘on a subject related to the advancement of natural knowledge on the structure and function of the nervous system’. The College has dominated this area ever since the first Ferrier lecture given by Sir Charles Sherrington in 1929. Other Magdalen Ferrier lecturers include J Z Young, John Eccles and Lawrence Weiskrantz.
