James Maynard wins Whitehead Prize

James Maynard, Fellow by Examination of Magdalen College, has been awarded the Whitehead Prize of the London Mathematical Society for “his spectacular results on gaps between prime numbers”.

The Whitehead Prize is awarded annually to mathematicians working in the UK at the early stage of their career. It is named after the distinguished mathematician J. H. C. Whitehead who was once the Waynflete Professor of Mathematics at Magdalen.
