Mr Jonas Kurle

Subject: Economics

Academic position: Postdoctoral Research Associate

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Calleva Research Centre at Magdalen College. I completed my undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Administration (BSc) at the University of Tübingen in Germany, before moving to the United Kingdom to pursue my MPhil and DPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford. My research is centred on econometrics, with a particular focus on the detection of outliers and structural breaks in cross-sectional and time series regression models.

During my postdoctoral research, I will develop and apply econometric methods to explore the interaction between economic activity, climate policy, and climate change. My focus is on providing insights to policymakers, including improving forecasts of the effects of climate policies on greenhouse gas emissions and examining the employment impacts of the net-zero transition. I am also interested in improving methodologies for synthesising existing evidence on the effectiveness of climate policies through meta-analyses.
