Background
Chloe Green is a DPhil candidate in Musicology at University College, Oxford. She graduated with a BA in Music from Somerville College, Oxford, where she received the Gibbs Prize in 2022. The Society for Music Analysis recognised her work with the SMA Undergraduate Award. In 2024 she completed her MPhil in Musicology with Distinction at Somerville.
Research
Chloe is a musicologist interested in Victorian social and cultural history, theatrical entertainments, and song. Her DPhil research, on representations of gender, love, and disaster in nineteenth-century popular songs about the bicycle, is supported by the AHRC and the Clarendon Fund.
