Oxford Conservation Consortium opens doors to members

07 July 2026

The Oxford Conservation Consortium (OCC) recently welcomed librarians and archivists from its member institutions to its conservation studio at Magdalen College.

Visitors had the opportunity to see a range of conservation projects currently underway, including medieval parchment deeds, a Persian manuscript, a late fifteenth-century incunable, and framed works from Magdalen. The event also provided a valuable opportunity for colleagues from across the Consortium to meet, exchange ideas, and catch up with one another.

The OCC also regularly hosts studio tours throughout the year for new members of Magdalen staff who are interested in learning more about the conservation of the College’s collections. Any member of staff wishing to attend a future tour is encouraged to contact the team at occ@magd.ox.ac.uk.

The Consortium is also delighted to welcome Leina Taylor to the team as its new Paper Conservator. Leina joins OCC after spending the past two years working in Japan, bringing valuable international experience and expertise to the conservation of the Consortium’s collections.
