Magdalen students recognised at Encaenia

Every year at Encaenia, alongside the awarding of honorary degrees, students are recognised for demonstrating the highest level of academic excellence.

This year, two Magdalen students were named.

Emmanuelle Gelain-Sohn, who was awarded the George Humphrey Prize for best overall performance in psychology papers in the final honour School of Psychology, Philosophy and Linguistics, and Matthew Dick, who won the Gibbs Prize for History for achieving the highest average mark in History FHS.

Huge congratulations to them both.

This year, honorary degrees were awarded to Dame Jacinda Ardern GNZM, Professor Daron Acemoğlu, Carlos Acosta CBE, Adjoa Andoh MBE, Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr, Professor Katalin Karikó, Billie Jean King, Professor Shuji Nakamura FREng and Dame Emma Walmsley DBE.
