We are so pleased to share that Professor Laurie Maguire, Emeritus Fellow in English, has been honoured with a Leverhulme Research Fellowship.
The Leverhulme Trust, a national grant-making organization in the United Kingdom, is dedicated to supporting “scholarships for the purposes of research and education.” Established in 1925, the Trust has played a pivotal role in funding diverse initiatives such as research projects, fellowships, studentships, bursaries, and prizes across various academic disciplines.
Professor Laurie Maguire has been awarded the two-year Fellowship, commencing in September 2025, for her biography of Judith Shakespeare. Professor Maguire’s renowned research focuses on early modern drama and textual criticism, and this project seeks to bring the often-overlooked story of William Shakespeare’s daughter out of her father’s shadow and into the historical spotlight.
Huge congratulations to Laurie on this incredible achievement.
