Congratulations to Professor Jocelyn Benson, who was elected Governor of Michigan in yesterday’s midterm elections.
Jocelyn studied at Magdalen from 1999 to 2001 as a Marshall Scholar, completing her master’s degree in Sociology.
Since leaving Magdalen, Jocelyn has built a distinguished career in public service and academia. She has worked as a civil rights advocate, became the youngest woman to serve as Dean of Wayne State University Law School, and served as Michigan’s Secretary of State from 2019 until her election as Governor.
Her election is a wonderful achievement, and we are delighted to celebrate the success of a Magdalen alumna on the international stage.
