Alumnus receives Michael von Clemm Fellowship

Recent graduate, Asker Kurt-Elli (2022) has been awarded the prestigious Michael von Clemm Fellowship to attend Harvard University as a Special Student.

The Fellowship recognises a finalist or recent graduate from across the University of Oxford to spend a year at Harvard University’s The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to follow any course of study of their choosing. Whilst at Harvard, Asker will pursue an interdisciplinary curriculum of Data Science, Economics, and AI governance, and will also act as an informal ambassador of the University of Oxford.

Asker graduated from Magdalen last year with a BA in Music and was awarded the Gibbs Prize for topping his cohort. He is currently studying for an MPhil in Digital Humanities at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, on a scholarship from the Cambridge Trust. His research explores the philosophical and sociological implications of algorithmic recommendation systems.
