Lord of the Rings Marathon Screening

SATURDAY 7th FEBRUARY 2026, STARTING AT 8am

All three films……………Extended editions……………All in one day.

A dark, epic poster advertising a Lord of the Rings Marathon: One-Day Screening.

The background features a dramatic, moody landscape with a towering Gothic structure resembling a college or cathedral on the left, shrouded in mist. Behind it are rugged, snow-capped mountains. A glowing, golden ring of text (the One Ring inscription) hovers in the sky above the structure.

ONE-DAY SCREENING

7 FEBRUARY 2026

Magdalen College, Oxford

Includes seven Hobbit meals. Starts 08:00.

ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY WALK INTO MAGDALEN

(Small text) booking required

The overall aesthetic is reminiscent of the movie trilogy's style, using rich golden and dark earthy tones.

It’s seventy years since Tolkien’s epic masterpiece, The Two Towers, hit bookshops, and we’re celebrating with the ultimate cinematic experience.

Magdalen Monday Movies presents the entire LOTR saga (but not the Hobbit films because they were rubbish) as they were meant to be seen: at full length, on the big screen. This screening will be in 4K resolution, the most detailed and immersive world-building you could wish for.

But there’s more. We’ll also be supplying you with seven Hobbit meals: breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper. And we’re hoping that a very special guest will put in an appearance. No clues yet.

There is a charge for this event. Seven meals and snacks do carry a cost, so it’s £20 a ticket. Any profits will go to support the Ultimate Picture Palace.

And remember: ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY WALK INTO MAGDALEN. Booking is required. To book, please click on the button below.
