The Law Library is situated in the Grove Building. It contains an up-to-date, reference-only collection of law books, law reports, and periodicals. The collection is available to search on SOLO. Access is limited to those studying law at Magdalen.

Access is limited to those studying law at Magdalen. To those with access, the Law Library is available 24/7.
Key rules
- Mobile phones and computers on silent
- No food in the reading rooms
- Hot and cold drinks are allowed in the reading rooms provided they are kept in a sealed container. Paper takeaway cups are not allowed.
A £5 charge will be imposed for infringement of these rules.
By request of the law students themselves, no books may be borrowed from the Law Library.
All books may only be consulted in the Law Library reading rooms.

There is step-free access throughout the Law Library. The library occupies a single floor. The doors are not powered. The nearest wheelchair accessible toilet is within 200m in the Grove Auditorium.

Members of the library team can offer one-to-one inductions if needed. Please contact library.desk@magd.ox.ac.uk to discuss. Following these we can help to source any additional equipment required to support college members with disabilities and direct them to relevant university level support.

Staff are always happy to help get books from high shelves, or from less accessible areas in the Law Library, and it is possible to contact us by phone 01865 276045 or by email library.desk@ox.ac.uk with a list of the books you need and ask staff to put them aside for your use. Please bear in mind that at busy times there may be a delay before we are able to fulfill your request.

With very few exceptions, the library is happy to buy law books on demand. All members of College are encouraged to suggest books or films needed for their studies, or to fill gaps in the collection. To make a suggestion, please fill in a suggestion form at the Longwall Library enquiry desk, or email library@magd.ox.ac.uk.
