Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation (CSSF) is a cultural education charity that gives young people the confidence to succeed in life. Every year they work with thousands of pupils from every community, background and school type as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival, a project giving confidence and self-esteem to last a lifetime.
As part of the College’s Outreach and Access programme, we hosted these four state schools for a full two-day residential programme, and to perform their plays in the Magdalen Auditorium. As part of this residential, the school students received a workshop with current Oxford students involved in the student drama scene; received a lecture on their chosen play from our Shakespeare expert Professor Sophie Duncan; and learned more about what it’s like to study at Oxford.
