Join Magdalen alumni Jeremy Hunt (1985) and Sarah Healey (1994), who will share their  insights and experiences of the internal workings of government at the highest level, discussing the reality and management of relationships between Ministers and the Civil Service, and how policy is enacted and implemented – or grinds to a halt.

Sarah Healey was appointed Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) on 7 February 2023. She was previously the Permanent Secretary at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) from 2019.

Jeremy Hunt was Chancellor of the Exchequer between October 2022 and July 2024. He has also served as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport.
