Hichens Awards

Duration: One year
Eligibility: Overseas and UK/EU students
Value: Free accommodation in College for the course duration, up to one year maximum.
Remarks: Up to three scholarships are available per year, chosen by the Economics tutors from applicants who have been accepted to read for the MBA/MFE at Magdalen. There is no separate application process.

The Mackinnon, and the Tavella Stewart Scholarships

Duration: Initially one year, renewable after review.
Eligibility: Restricted to students who have read for their first degree at Magdalen.
Value: Assessed according to individual circumstances.
Remarks: Awarded to candidates with research potential who have been unable, after application, to obtain funding from other sources. Application is made via an internal College application form.

Perkin Research Studentship

Duration: Initially one year, with possible renewal.
Eligibility: For Commonwealth citizen graduates reading Chemistry.
Value: £11,000 per annum, tenable up to three years.
Remarks: This studentship may not be awarded every year. There is no separate application process and this award may be offered in conjunction with another University award, such as a Clarendon Fund scholarship.

Student Support Fund Graduate Grants

Duration: Initially one year, renewable after review.
Eligibility: Restricted to graduate students who are already studying at Magdalen.
Value: Assessed according to individual circumstances.
Remarks: A variety of maintenance grants or loans to help graduate students who experience unforeseen need. Application is made via an internal College application form.

The Oxford-Bellhouse Graduate Scholarship

Duration: Period of the fee liability.
Eligibility: Students ordinarily resident in the EEA or Switzerland.
Value: 100% of the College and University tuition fees, and a grant of at least £13,726 for living expenses.
Remarks: This studentship may not be awarded every year. Awarded to an eligible candidate who has applied by the relevant January deadline for a new DPhil at Oxford in Engineering, specialising in Biomedical Engineering. There is no separate application process.

Magdalen Hong Kong Scholarship

Duration: Up to four years in total.
Eligibility: Students who are an ordinary resident of Hong Kong and are citizens of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Candidates should be intending to return to Hong Kong or the PRC on completion of their studies.
Value: Maximum of £26,250 per annum as a contribution towards College and University tuition fees and living expenses.
Remarks:  Awarded to eligible candidates who have been accepted for a place at Magdalen. Preference will be given to candidates who will study Law, Politics, Philosophy, or Economics. Courses longer than four years are not eligible, nor are courses in Clinical Medicine or Business Studies. This scholarship may not be awarded every year. There is no separate application process.

Leon E and Iris L Beghian Graduate Scholarship

Duration: Period of the fee liability.
Eligibility: Students ordinarily resident in the UK for at least five year prior to the start of the course.
Value: 100% of College and University tuition fees, and a grant for living costs (of at least £13,863)
Remarks: Awarded to eligible candidates who have applied by the relevant January deadline for a new DPhil at Oxford. For entry in October 2017, two full scholarships are available to applicants to the full-time DPhil Music, DPhil Ancient History or DPhil Classical Languages and Literature.
