The Hilary Term Library and Archives exhibition, ‘The Greek Manuscripts of Magdalen College”, will run from 8th February–16 May 2017. The exhibition will be open to members of the college and to the public every Thursday afternoon from 2pm, with entrance via the steps to the Old Library off of the Cloisters. Members of the public will still need to pay the standard entrance fee to the College in order to view the exhibition; members of the University can gain entrance by showing their Bodleian card at the Lodge.

There will be a book launch of A Catalogue of Greek Manuscripts of Magdalen College, Oxford drafted by Mark Sosower, revised and completed by Nigel Wilson at 5.15pm on Friday 24th February 2017 in the Summer Common Room. The launch is open to the public and will be followed by a drinks reception and a viewing of the exhibition, accompanied by a kanonaki (traditional Greek instrument) player. Booking essential  (RSVP to library@magd.ox.ac.uk).

The Library and Archives talk will be given by exhibition co-curators Dr Dawn LaValle  on “Greek pedagogy at Magdalen” and Daryl Green, College Librarian on “Recycled Byzantine bindings” at 5.30pm on Wednesday 3 May 2017  in the Summer Common Room. The talk is open to the public and will be followed by a drinks reception and a viewing of the exhibition. Booking essential (RSVP to library@magd.ox.ac.uk).

There is a parallel exhibition  in the Longwall Library foyer, open to College members only, on the conservation of Magdalen’s Greek Manuscripts and the Fragments of the Gospel of Matthew 26.
