Rooms
Graduates at Magdalen benefit from a number of excellent facilities, both specific to the MCR or run by College and shared with undergraduate students. This page lists just some of the resources for relaxing and dining open to graduate use:
MCR Rooms
The MCR is located in the beautiful Cloisters Quad, and is an excellent meeting place whether you're looking to grab a quiet cup of tea or attend our weekly Friday night "Liquid Lounge".
We have two spacious rooms equipped with plenty of seating, and a bar with a coffee/espresso machine and complimentary tea/coffee/biscuits. We also have a TV and DVD player, as well as our own foosball table. Our MCR is stocked with subscriptions to a variety of newspapers and magazines (Daily Telegraph, the Times, the Guardian, the Observer, and the Sun, among others). For the musically inclined, we also have a piano (currently being repared) and a stereo/sound system.

Hall
Though all graduate residences have kitchen facilities, most students try to take advantage of the good quality and heavily subsidized food served in our beautiful 15th century Hall. It's open most days for all three meals for a reasonable price; costs for a normal meal vary between £2-3 on average. During term time, Hall is open for Breakfast 8-9:15 am, Lunch 12:15-1:30 pm, and Dinner 6:15-7:30 pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday there is only dinner from 6:25-6:45 pm. Meal times vary outside of term time, and a list of meals being provided in Hall is available in the Lodge. Here is the current week's menu in PDF format. Meals will be available in Hall during Christmas vacations as listed here.
Formal Hall
In addition to canteen food, there is a separate, smart catered sitting on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 7:15 pm. A gown is required, and smart dress is needed on Sundays. Sign up for formal hall must be done several days in advance, and is online at http://meals.magd.ox.ac.uk/. This is also a great opportunity to invite guests to a good meal at College.
Old Kitchen Bar
This is a great bar with excellent atmosphere within college walls - serves sandwhiches as an alternative to hall food. Alcohol prices are generally cheaper than at Pubs in town. The bar also has a pool table, a jukebox, table football, pinball and a multiquiz machine. During Trinity term and in the summer, the riverside terrace is open for eating outside along the Cherwell. The JCR and MCR also use the Old Kitchen Bar for bops during term time.
Junior Common Room
All members affiliated with the MCR are also automatically members of the undergraduate common room, the JCR. The JCR has rooms adjacent to the MCR and serves a central meeting place for undergraduates. The JCR also runs a number of really helpful services that benfit graduates as well, such as the JCR shop which also sells wines. Please see the JCR wineshop website: http://wineshop.magd.org.uk/
