The John Stein Scholarship
Support the next generation of Magdalen medics
Professor John Stein, FRCP, taught Medicine at Magdalen from 1970 until 2008, and is still involved in medical teaching as an Emeritus Fellow, inspiring countless students to pursue a huge range of specialisms.
The John Stein Scholarship gives bursaries to medical students in financial need, allowing Magdalen to attract the very best medical students regardless of socio-economic background.
The means-tested Oxford Bursary offers up to £4,500 per year, and the NHS covers fees and some living costs in the final two years. However this still leaves an average shortfall in funding and loans of £27,000 over six years, and many students would be faced with abandoning their studies without additional bursaries such as the John Stein Scholarship.
Please give your support to the next generation of Magdalen medics.
If you would like to give by post, you can do so by returning a donation form to Americans for Oxford, 500 Fifth Avenue, 32nd Floor, New York, NY 10110.
