The Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt MP, visited the College on 23 January 2014 at the invitation of the Sherrington Society, the medical society based at Magdalen. Mr Hunt spoke on the National Health Service and took part in a lively question and answer session with students and fellows.
Mr Hunt studied PPE at Magdalen from 1985-88. He is member of Parliament for South West Surrey. He was made Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport after the formation of the Coalition Government in 2010. He was appointed Health Secretary in 2012.
