Top Marks for Magdalen Students

Magdalen students did outstandingly well in winning prizes for their results in the Oxford University examinations taken in 2013. Here is a list of the prize winners:

Leslie T Bailey (History) – Proxime accessit Gibbs Prize in History 2013.

Vrinda Bhandari (BCL) – Ralph Chiles CBE Award in Human Rights (2 of 2) for the Bachelor of Civil Law examinations.

Massimo Cè (Literae Humaniores) – Comparative Philology Prize 2013 for the best performance in any of the Philology and Linguistics papers in the Honour Schools of Literae Humaniores, Classics & English, Classics & Modern Languages and Classics & Oriental Studies.

Helen M Ginn (Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry) – Gibbs Book Prize 2013 (1 of 3) for her performance in Parts I and II in the Honour School of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry.

Nick Hasle (Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry) – Gibbs Book Prize 2013 (1 of 3) for his performance in Parts I and II in the Honour School of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry.

Mark A Heath (Modern Languages – French and Spanish) – Ramón Silva Memorial Prize (1 of 2) for the best performance in spoken Spanish by a candidate who is neither a native speaker nor bilingual.

Krittanai Laohakunakorn (PPE) – John Hicks and George Webb Medley Prize 2013 (jointly) for the best overall performance in Economics in the Honour Schools of Philosophy, Politics, & Economics and History & Economics.

Mary-Ellen Lynall (Graduate-entry Medicine) – Meakins McClaran Medal 2013 for the outstanding overall performance of a student graduating with the degrees of BM.BCh (Oxon).

Alicia A Lyons (BCL) – Rupert Cross Prize in Evidence for the Bachelor of Civil Law examinations.

Lara M McIvor (European & Middle Eastern Languages) – Mustafa Badawi Prize for an outstanding essay in Modern Arabic Literature in FHS European and Middle Eastern Languages.

Vinay J Menon (MSc in Global Health Science) – Prize for the best dissertation for the MSc in Global Health Science 2012/13.

Eleanor C Mitchell (BCL) – Law Faculty Prize in International Law and Armed Conflict for the Bachelor of Civil Law examinations.

Lucy E A Rosen (History) – Gibbs Book Prize in History 2013.

Dylan C Townley (Human Sciences) – One of the three joint winners of the 2013 Wilma Crowther Prize for the best Human Sciences dissertation.

Alexander J Tracy (Medical Sciences) – Wronker Grant for his excellent performance in the Honour  School of Medical Sciences; Association of Physicians prize for an innovative project demonstrating the promotion of academic medicine in the Honour School of Medical Sciences.

Henry C Watson (PPE) – Gibbs Prize (joint) for the best Politics written papers in the Honour Schools of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and History and Politics 2013.
