Letter (dated: 3 Jan. 1854) from Andrew Edwards, fellow (1823-1872) to John Rigaud relating to the administration of Fellowships and Praelectorships. The letter is torn and a small section is missing.
[Andrew Edwards: matriculated in 1812 from Worcester College, obtained his demyship at Magdalen in 1813. Edwards took his BA in 1816, his MA in 1818 and his BD in 1828. Edwards was elected to the fellowship in 1823 and further served the college as Senior Dean of Arts in 1825, Bursar in 1826, 1830, 1838, 1842, 1846, 1851, 1861 and 1862, Junior Proctor in 1827, Vice-President in 1837 and Dean of Divinity in 1839. He died in 1872.]
Letter (dated: 2 Dec. 1878) to John Rigaud from R.H. Hill, Stanway Rectory, Colchester in reference to the advowson and church of Stanway. (4 pages)
[Richard Humphrey Hill was admitted as a Chorister at Magdalen College in 1834 and matriculated in 1842 from Exeter College. He returned to Magdalen as a Demy in 1842. He took his B.A. in 1846, his M.A. in 1849. Hill was ordained deacon in 1849 and priest in 1856. In 1850, he was named Master of the Schools and Head Master of Beaumaris Grammar School. He served as Precentor and Canon of Bangor in 1861, Head Master of Magdalen College School in 1865, Rector of Stanway, Essex in 1874 and Diocesan Inspector of Schools in 1877.]
