MC:P117 Papers relating to John Rigaud
These papers were found among the John Farquhar Fulton Papers at Yale University Library, and given to Magdalen College in January 1997 as Acc. 97/19.
John Rigaud was a Demy of Magdalen in 1840, and a Fellow from 1849 until his death in 1888. Most of these letters and papers refer to the death of J.E. Henderson (Demy, 1848, Fellow 1858 and Bursar) in 1882, when he was knocked down by a runaway carriage in Broad Street as he was helping a woman to escape. See here for the main collection of Rigaud’s papers which had remained within Magdalen College.
