MC:P261/MS5 Collection of Loose Papers, given at unknown date
The manuscript contains 12 documents relating to the expulsion of the fellows in 1687. How and when these documents arrived in the archives is unknown but much of the information contained in them can be found in Bloxam.
Collection of papers bound together at an unknown date:
1: Letter from the college to the Duke of Ormond 18 April 1687.
2: Notes of the order of events from 28 May to 14 September 1687
3: Note of part of the proceedings before the Ecclesiastical Commission June 1687 giving the conversation of Dr. Fairfax with the Lord Chancellor in detail.
4: An account of what the king said to his fellows 4 September 1687.
5, 6: The petition offered to the king 4 September and that delivered to Lord Sunderland on 6 September 1689.
7: Record of the college meeting of 4 September 1687
8: The Bishop of Chester’s speech 16 November 1687
9: An address to the Commissioners requesting a copy of their Commission to visit the College
10: Account of the proceedings on 16 November 1687-mainly as an ‘Impartial Relation’. However, the account given in the Impartial Relation does not agree with what is found here.
11: The king’s instructions to the Commissioners
12: Part of letter apparently addressed to the Fellows between 25 Oct-16 Nov.
