MC:P174/P2 Photographs of Joan Cross
The soprano Joan Cross (1900–93) worked closely with Benjamin Britten, singing in the world premieres of several of his operas. These photographs, many of them signed, show her in several of the roles which she created. She presumably knew Hodgkinson and Schneider through Britten and Pears.
