These are a set of programmes for plays, operattas and other events attended by Greene.
MC:F29/3/X5/1 after Nov 1881
Printed leaflet with the book of words of Patience, by Gilbert and Sullivan.
MC:F29/3/X5/2 after Dec 1889
Printed leaflet with the book of words of The Gondoliers, by Gilbert and Sullivan.
Programme for a production of Othello, given in an Italian translation at Covent Garden, with a Signor Salvini (Tommaso Salvini 1829–1915) in the title role. The programme includes the Italian translation of the play which was used.

Two programmes for a production of Goethe’s Faust, adapted by W. G. Wills, performed at the Lyceum Theatre, with Henry Irving playing Mephistopheles. X5/4 is a souvenir programme bound in hard covers for the whole production run, and X5/5 is a programme printed for the night that Greene attended.
Souvenir programme for a production of Becket, by Alfred Tennyson, performed at the Lyceum Theatre, with Henry Irving playing Becket. The programme mainly consists of artists’ impressions of scenes from the play.

Programme and book of words with music for the “Blondinette Melodists’ Entertainment”. This appears to have been a women’s ensemble of the late 19th century. There is no note to say when Greene attended one of their concerts.

Programme for a production of All for Love; Or, The World Well Lost by John Dryden, performed in the Hall of Merton College.
In addition to these programmes, there were also found in the Library the libretto to Cinderella: A Fairy Opera in Four Acts (1882), with a couple of posters advertising the Balliol College Musical Society’s productions of the same on 25 May 1889 and 21 June 1889. These were sent to the Archives of Balliol College on 23 September 2014.
