MC:P184 Memorabilia of Donald George Stradling (b. 1929)
Donald George Stradling was an Exhibitioner at Magdalen in 1949–53. These items were given to the College archives in May 2002 as Accession No. 02/144. Catalogued in May 2002.

Photocopies of memorabilia relating to a rugby match played between Magdalen Rugby Club (captained by Stradling) and a touring Thai side, comprising:
X1/1: A photograph of the two teams.
X1/2–3: Cuttings from the Oxford Mail, for 6 February 1952, reporting on the game.
X1/4: Invitation to a reception at the Thai Embassy for 6 February, which was cancelled because of George VI’s death.
X1/5: Letter (dated 13 Feb 1952) from the captain of the Thai Rugby Team to Stradling, thanking him for the College’s hospitality.
Magdalen College won by 17 points to 6. James Griffiths, then Vice-President, kicked off the ball at the match. See too MC:P184/AR1/2.
Photocopy of a photograph from Picture Post showing people in punts under Magdalen Bridge on May Morning. Stradling noted that several of them were OICCU members whom he knew.
Tie of the Rudolph Ramblers Cricket Club, owned by Stradling. The Club played against local village sides. The tie’s stripes were green, white and brown, supposedly symbolising respectively grass, clothing and beer.
