MC:P390/MS1 Couper’s Miscellaneous Notes
Notebook inscribed on title page “Miscellaneous notes”. Couper goes on to write that they were made in 1932–3 when he was at Glasgow, during the second year of his undergraduate degree there. The book consists of notes on various classical subjects.
Notebook used by Couper both at Glasgow and Oxford, titled on first page “Notes on various Points in Greek History [“et cetera” added later in pencil]”.

Bundle of foolscap pages, which appear to have been paper clipped at some point. They contain quotations from English and classical literature, and appear to have been assembled by Couper for interesting quotations; in fact he has written at the head of several pages “Quot. Misc.” or “Q.M.”
Notebook inscribed on the title page “Vocabularies, etc.:- Homer: The Iliad (contd.). Homer: The Odyssey”, containing Couper’s lists of words taken from these poems.

Notebook inscribed by Couper on the front page “Notae fortasse utiles ad quaestiones generales respondendas!” [i.e. “Notes that might be useful for answering general questions”], comprising miscellaneous notes on various aspects of Greek and Roman culture. At the end of the book is another section titled “Theologica Quaedam” [i.e. “certain matters to do with Theology”].
