MC:P212 Papers concerning Prince Christian Victor (1867-1900)
Prince Christopher of Schleswig-Holstein lived 1867-1900 and was a Commoner at Magdalen 1886-1887. He was grandson to Queen Victoria. The papers were deposited by Henry Sotheran Ltd. as Accession Number 91/26

MC:P212/C1 – LETTERS FROM PRINCE CHRISTIAN VICTOR
Photocopies of 17 letters written by Prince Christian Victor to ‘Raphael’, who was a friend of Victor’s from Wellington schooldays and shared his love of cricket. There is no other name given for him. Four were sent from Wellington School, others from Windsor, Germany and Rawal Pindi. Some letters are not addressed and undated. There is no mention of Magdalen in the letters. The original letters were sold in March 1991 by Henry Sotheran Ltd of Piccadilly to a private buyer.
MC:P212/X1 – MEMORIAL ADDRESS
Printed copy of the memorial address given by T.H.W. (most likely Warren, President of Magdalen 1885-1928) to commemorate Prince Christian Victor, who died at Pretoria on October 29th, 1900 (during the Boer War). A memorial to Christian Victor was erected in the antechapel soon after his death.
